What's going on with the Paramount?
posted 3/2/2010 10:10:00 AM
The construction team has been assembled and there is a very loose goal of re-opening the theatre Fall 2012 (don't hold me to that).
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT

....just pure fun and "folly"!
My Favorite Concert
posted 12/7/2009 12:13:00 PM
The chance to perform even small amounts of the Bach Christmas Oratorio was an absolute dream.
LEFTOVERS

This was an amazing jigsaw puzzle that was put together with admirable skill and precision
The Rest of the Story

This is HIGHLY unusual--broken strings, yes, but an actual black key broken during performance is virtually unheard of.
A Tremendous Success!

This concert was chalk full of surprises.
Another milestone

That brings me to Burana at Brucemore. This thing is going to be HUGE--roughly 230+ people on stage, thousands of people on the lawn and some music that will be finger lickin' good (did I mention to bring a picnic).
FOILED AGAIN!

The morning of the 19th, we were on site at 6 am looking at a sky roiling with black eminence.
WE MADE IT--HALLELUJAH!

It goes to show you that we're not just about a building or a location, but rather music is about bringing people together
Change is as good as a rest

So why am I not leading the orchestra?
HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES?
posted 2/19/2009 2:11:00 PM
Let's face it, when one thinks of concerto repertoire, the piano or a stringed instrument gets all the love. It's unfair for the rest of the families of instruments who have to compete with this prejudice.
