Frederick Delius has often been described as an English impressionist, but truth be told, much of his music has American roots in that he spent much of his time in Florida. Together with Jerry Owen’s Tango this music proves that America remains the ultimate cultural melting pot. From the Old World comes two works that stand as the pinnacle of achievement from their respective eras: Bach’s Brandenburg concerti represent the height of Baroque instrumental composition and Mozart’s final symphony exhibits unequalled sophistication foreshadowing a future left to Beethoven to discover.
