This performance showcases the incomparable talents of Augustin Hadelich, a young violinist just beginning a significant international career. Come hear the spectacular and ferocious Shostakovich Violin Concerto featuring an artist who is likely to become a household name in a very short while. Dubuque composer Michael Gilbertson’s Russian Orthodox inspired composition joins Stravinsky’s popular Firebird to bring the 2009-2010 season to a remarkable close.
