Presenting...Orchestra Iowa Chamber Players
Cedar Rapids, IA – Orchestra Iowa is pleased to present an all new Chamber Music Series featuring the Orchestra Iowa Chamber Players. The 2009-2010 Series will include three programs showcasing small ensembles from the Orchestra. All performances will be held on Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 1285 Third Avenue SE in Cedar Rapids, November 7, February 27, and May 1. All patrons are invited to a meet-the-artists reception immediately following each program.
A subscription to all three concerts in the Orchestra Iowa Chamber Series is just $35, with single tickets for $15. Both subscription and single tickets may be purchased online at www.orchestraiowa.org or by calling 319.366.8203 or 800.369.TUNE (8863). Tickets are also available through the Orchestra Iowa Ticket Office, 119 Third Avenue SE, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Fans of chamber music will be delighted to celebrate the return of the Chamber Music Series in an exciting new format. Unlike past concerts that featured music exclusively written for one ensemble (i.e. string quartet, woodwind quintet), the new series features a wide array of chamber music written for a variety of ensembles and instrumentation.
Founded in April 1921, Orchestra Iowa is one of the oldest symphony orchestras in continuous operation west of the Mississippi River. Its 82 professional musicians perform more than 120 public performances throughout Eastern Iowa each year, many of which can be heard on Iowa Public Radio and seen on Iowa Public Television.
