Cedar Rapids, IA - Interested in social networking and the arts? Experience that and so much more as you spend an evening with Orchestra Iowa and ImpactCR for Generation O. Join your friends and make some new ones as the next generation of orchestral music lovers get together for not just a concert, but an experience. Enjoy cocktail hour, go beyond the music with a backstage tour, and catch one of the premier concerts of the season at an affordable price.
Orchestra Iowa and ImpactCR are collaborating on the next Generation O event, Saturday, January 23rd. The program, Fire and Ice, features guest pianist and Iowa native Conor Hanick performing Prokofiev’s fiery 3rd Piano Concerto. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a pre-concert cocktail reception hosted at Water Tower Place. Appetizers and drinks will be provided. At 7 p.m., the evening moves on to Sinclair Auditorium for Insight, an informative, informal discussion and Q & A with Maestro Hankewich and guest pianist Conor Hanick. Following Insight, go behind-the-scenes and learn more about the music as Maestro Hankewich, Orchestra musicians, and production staff prepare for the performance. Then settle into the “best seats in the house” and enjoy the show. Following the concert, join Generation O, Maestro Hankewich and Conor Hanick for a post-concert meet-n-greet at Zins.
