Cedar Rapids, IA – Orchestra Iowa presents “Homecoming”, Saturday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, and Sunday, November 11 at 2:30 p.m. at Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City.

After four seasons of performing outside its home, Orchestra Iowa makes its triumphant return to the newly restored and renovated Paramount Theatre for a homecoming performance. This highly anticipated event will feature a program including Mussorgsky's
Pictures at an Exhibition, Richard Strauss'
Der Rosenkavalier Suite, Gunther Schullers'
Seven Studies on Themes of Paul Klee, and Iowa's own Jerry Owen's
Glee. The Orchestra will also celebrate the fifth season of its Iowa City symphonic series with a second performance on Sunday at the Iowa Memorial Union.
Maestro Timothy Hankewich will host “Insight”, a pre-concert discussion, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at each venue. “Insight” is open to all patrons in attendance.

Founded in April 1921, Orchestra Iowa is one of the oldest symphony orchestras in continuous operation west of the Mississippi River. Its 82 professional musicians perform more than 120 public performances throughout Eastern Iowa each year, many of which can be heard on Iowa Public Radio and seen on Iowa Public Television.
